First, we made an appointment in the office and there were plenty of open dates and times. We arrived back at the office at our scheduled time and the worker there had us fill out waivers and read through the instructions. Everything was she brought us out to the speed boat, which was right at the shore of the beach of the resort, past the infinity pool area. The boat was a bit old but I did not mind. The driver helped us up on the boat and put our belongings safely away. We went a few minutes out to a floating boat dock and were helped up by our driver and another man on the dock. The men cleaned the helmets, checked the pressure machines and briefed us through the instructions again. They were all very friendly and one of them made good conversation. Throughout the whole underwater experience, I felt safe and guided. It was definitely a new experience breathing in the helmets and walking underwater, but I was not nervous at all! My partner was a bit nervous but the workers were so helpful and he had a great time. We were underwater for about 35 minutes and were given bottles of fish food to attract the fish. Overall, great experience and we were able to buy the pictures they took of us for $30usd. If we'd have paid for it we would have been very disappointed!We were quite looking forward to it until we sat in the office reading the introductory documents and then we both ended up feeling quite nervous! It was advertised as a nice calm walk across the seabed that was suitable for young and old⌠the induction notes then started talking about water getting in the helmets whilst you were underwater, equalising your ears as you leave the boat and travel down under the water, heavy currents pushing you around⌠Iâm not really sure what we were expecting but we started to wonder what weâd signed up for!The boat that took us out was a pretty old speedboat, it had seen better days! It leaves from the far corner of the beach to the left of the Grand Mirage hotel as you are looking out to boat takes you out to a pontoon which is anchored a little way off of the beach. The pontoon itself and the Seawalk helmets that greet you also look really old and were not making us feel any more comfortable about the whole thing! The helmets reminded me of something out of an old war film!There were 3 guys on the boat, 2 didnât really seem to speak English and the 1 guiding us through things was trying his best but was maybe not as clearly spoken as we needed in that situation, especially when youâre feeling a little on edge!My partner went first, got on the stairs on the back of the boat and started stepping down. They then lowered the helmet on to him so that the water took some of the weight of it but you could see immediately from his face that he didnât like the feeling! The helmets can make you feel very claustrophobic. It was quite a rough day when we went out too, so as he tried to then step further down the ladder into the sea, a wave came across and loads of water went up in to the helmet. At that point he jumped straight out and said no, I canât do that, I donât feel felt bad that theyâd brought us out and had everything set up so I felt that I had to go through with it then so as not to have wasted their time! But to be honest, when I got half way down the ladder and had water splashing into my helmet, I could quite easily have said no thank you, I donât like this feeling either!But I persevered and managed to equalise my ears by continuously swallowing until I hit the instructor took my hand and guided me to a rail to hold on to â there was a really strong current so you needed to be fairly strong to stand your ground. There is no way an older person could have done sensation of breathing normally underwater was a bit odd and it wasnât pleasant when water came in to the helmet â It got up to around chin level â you have to just stay calm and somehow trust that itâs not going to completely fill up with water!The instructor gave me some fish food to squirt in front of my face which brought fish over to me and it was good fun for a minute or 2 but that was about it â there were only 2 types of fish down there so once youâve seen them it gets boring pretty quickly. You stay in a little area thatâs just a couple of meters squared and there is literally nothing else around for you to see. I used the 2 bottles of fish food that the instructor took down with him, whilst he took loads of photos, then he got me to hold on to a metal bar and he walked me round in a circle away from the fixed bar that I had been holding and then he signalled whether I wanted to stay down or go up and I jumped at the chance for it to be over! I wasnât enjoying being in the helmet and there was nothing more to see anyway! Needless to say we were happy when the rickety boat got us back to dry land! We apologize in advance if you feel uncomfortable with equipment, boats, and staff with a little basic English, well we will discuss this problem with management in the future we will update everything, the boat and also the staff will learn more English, Apologize again we explain a little for the problem of seawalker, our helmet really weighs 37 kg, and indeed when it will go down then the water will rise because of the influence of the waves and this is normal, we will also get pressure in water maybe you are not familiar because you first tried this and normally the water coming in the helmet under your chin but if you keep look straight the water will not come up until your mouth, incidentally the current sea water conditions, waves, not many fish, and poor visibility because we can not predict it every time can change, and before all this you did read in briefing noted and also the staff explained again in the pontoon with a brief briefing. And once again we apologize for all the inconvenience, we will fix everything and in the future much better for our next guests, and we hope that when you want to try again in our seawalker with your family and get good water conditions and photos which is very good to see. I stayed at the hotel and just went for the ride! Turned out I could do it only the next day. Went there early morning alone with a family with kids. The kids could also do it, though the younger one initially took some time. The staff was very cooperative. You get to see a lot of fishes very close by and it is a very nice and safe experience for those who aren't into scuba diving. From the ease of booking, through to the guys who take you out, and then the actual walk! The guys were so good with my daughter who was a bit frightened to begin with, but then came down with us. They took extra care of her which I thought was wonderful. The walk itself was amazing. The amount of fish that you wouldn't normally see was just amazing. As an added paid extra we were able to released baby turtles, that were just adorable. However, there is A LOT of stairs to descend to the water and climb back up after. If you can manage the stairs, itâs a 10/10 experience. Cash not essential whilst you are on both activities as the snack stops will allow the guides to pay and you can pay is was a great experience. The white water rafting is not challenging but a great experience. Comfortable for all ages. This was followed by ATV, which was fun as well. It was an excellent experience. There is another in Sanur that costs first things first. If you are planning a seawalk, you will find two types of prices, one double than the other, and I found this not explained The higher priced one is a 1 hour big boat ride seats around 100 people from Tanjung Benoa port in Bali towards Nusa Penida/other island. You dismount the big boat on a big pontoon floating anchored jetty of sorts. There is a fixed ladder from the pontoon to the bottom of the sea around 10-15 meters. A big helmet is placed on your head, and you take all the time in the world to climb down to the bottom, while a diver in scuba gear supervises, and assists you. Then you walk for a bit, and climb up the stairs to the pontoon. They take underwater photos and videos and will try to sell these to you at an exorbitant price. The camera fees are postpaid, and this is completely optional. But your photos and videos are taken whether you will buy them later or not. They will also have several pairs of good boots that you will need to walk underwater The lower priced one is a 5 minute ride in a pretty small boat 4 people, and you dismount on to a small pontoon. There is a small ladder of 3-4 steps, on which you stand while the helmet is placed over your head. Then the diver in scuba suit takes control, and will take you down to the bottom of the sea pretty fast. Then you walk for a bit, and you are then taken back to the pontoon by the scuba diver. Then the small boat takes you back to port. You will need to rent and take a GoPro style camera also exorbitant price which will be used to take your photos and videos underwater, and then given back to you to take to port where they will give your photos and videos and keep the camera. This is a prepaid system, so if you don't rent and take the camera beforehand, the guys over at the pontoon don't have any gear to take photos and videos. They have just one pair of plastic shoes for underwater walk, that is a tight fit for most The GoPro cameras/similar ones they have, are really old, and take VGA level photos and videos. Don't expect these to have stunning quality that you can view on a 4K did option 2, and the experience was good.
